South Warren Middle school returned to WKU by taking and advancing four showcases. Bailey Vandiver and Reagan Miller returned with the South Warren Media Show and advanced for the second consecutive year. This instructional project was to show and explain how our school uses the news show to inform how we teach and involve all SWMS students in the 21st century learning of technology. Sydney Willingham and Morgan Mason advanced with "Stock the Cart" community service project. This project involved them working in the community to help in a food drive collection for needy families. They documented all of the steps throughout the project and shared. Natalie Poff and Joy Fan advanced with their Instructional project "Safe Surfin". They taught Richpond elementary students the safety needed to use the web. Madison Priddy and Brooke Bush advanced with their community service project "Technology Night", in which they brought parents and members of the community and shared with them many of the technology tools we use everyday at SWMS in production of our news shows. South Warren has advanced 7 of 7 showcases it has taken in 2 years, and two of those 7 have gone on to TOP 10 State showcases finishes. No other middle school or high school in Warren County has ever received this honor. Alvaton Elementary received a Top 10 showcase in 2010.

South Warren Middle School STLP took 3 showcases to WKU and all of these advanced to move on to the State competitions in Lexington in May of 2011. The 3 showcases advancing was more than any other school in Warren County. Cejay Moore,Brooke Decesare, and Finley Sehorn took the Spartan Radio show. They showed what it took to create and produce a 10-15 radio show that was shared with the student body and the Spartan Community. Sara Davis and Caroline Simpson showcased the Spartan Web, which was the website they created to update all the community, parents, students of all the activities going on with SWMS STLP. Reagan Miller, Bailey Vandiver, and Taylor Frint took the South Warren Media Show to the showcase. They explained the details involved in the making of our school news show, that is available for all to see weekly.
