South Warren Middle School Boy’s Basketball
Austin Howard and Jonah Smith
We, Austin and Jonah, worked together to create a website about the South Warren Middle School boys’ basketball teams. We used a web 2.0 website creator called “Weebly.” On our website we created many different pages. These included: Home, Roster, Schedule, Pictures, Broadcasts, Quotes, and Blog.
On the Home page we typed out an introduction to the website and the basketball team, a link to the SWMS ihigh website, and the teams’ records.
Then, we created the Roster page. On this page, we put a 2-column paragraph element so we could have the 7th grade roster on one side and the 8th grade roster on the other. We then typed up the members of the teams and their numbers, checking the school’s site to make sure we had the right names and numbers.
Next, we added the Schedule page. On this page, we put all the teams’ games. We update this page after every game, typing a “W” for a win and an “L” for a lose and adding the scores of each team.
On the Pictures page, we added pictures of both the 7th grade team and the 8th grade team that were taken by other photographer(s) at our school. We made two slideshows of the pictures (one for each team) by choosing “Slideshow” under “Multimedia” on “Weebly,” and then uploading the pictures to our website and onto the certain slideshow.
On the Broadcasts page, we took a screen shot of the beginning of the broadcasts and put the pictures on the website as links to the broadcasts on our school’s ihigh page.
Then, we added the Quotes page. We decided to add this page because of the tradition of our basketball coach. At the beginning of every game and practice, he always has a quote to motivate the players and coaches.
Lastly, we added the Blog page. We added this page so that people could tell us what they liked about our website, what they disliked, and any suggestions they might have for us to meet their needs and wants from our website.
This is what we did to create our website about the SWMS boys basketball team.
