"Song of Triumph"
(Jonah Smith)
South Warren Middle School
Type:
Composed
Programs Used:
Garageband
To create this music piece, I started by composing a song on my piano. I worked with the Music teacher at our school to enhance the piano song. I then recorded my self playing my song on my piano at home, using Garageband. I edited any pauses that were too long, to make the timing how I wanted. I then used the “Musical Typing” window on Garageband and chose the instruments “Electric Piano,” “Swirling Electric Piano,” and “Molokai Melodies. Using these instruments on different tracks, I recorded my self manually playing
the chorus of my song on the computer with each of these instruments. Then, using “Electric Piano,” “Swirling Electric Piano,” and “Smokey Clav,” I recorded myself playing another part of the song. I played a different variation of the chorus for every instrument and had them build up so that it was just one instrument playing, then the same one plus another, and then the same two plus another, so they were all playing together. I then recorded my self playing the chorus slowly with “Ethereal Sunrise” for the end.
